Prairie IMPACT Concussion Testing

PRAIRIE MYFA FOOTBALL PARENTS,

The Prairie MYFA coaches are working with Dr Fitzgerald and Prairie Creek to set up time next week to provide free IMPACT pre-concussion testing for all Prairie MYFA football players.  This testing provides a baseline for each player which can be used in the return to play process if a player suffers a concession during the season.  Players age 11 and above can take the IMPACT computer test and players 10 and under take the paper King-Devick.  The King-Devick Test is an objective, physical method of evaluating visual tracking.

Please respond ASAP and let us know if you would be interested in participating in the testing AND,  if you would be able to get your player to Prairie Creek next Tuesday, August 13th from 11:30-3:00 or next Friday, August 16th from 8:00-2:00pm.  We know during the day is not ideal, but to use the Prairie Creek computer lab and accommodate the staff from Dr Fitzgerald’s office, these are the times available to us.  Dr Fitzgerld is generously picking up the cost of this testing.

Based on the response from parents, we will officially schedule the times for testing and will communicate with the Prairie parents.  Thank you for your prompt attention.
