On Thursday, the Prairie Hawks won their first game of the season 24-7 against the J-Hawks at Kingston Stadium.  The game starting with bang with Trey Beckman scoring on a 60+ yard run during the opening series.  The J-Hawks responded by putting together a long drive and scoring, but these would be their only points for the night.  After these opening drives, it became a defensive struggle with both teams fighting to to keep the other out of the endzone.  the Prairie Hawks broke the stalemate just before half with a touchdown to make the score 14-7.  In the second half, the Prairie Hawks stepped up the pressure and wore the J-Hawks down and pulled out a win by scoring 10 more points in the second half.
